 4 Types of Personality

As we all know, God created man with various personalities. Personality affects how we behave and interact with others. There are cheerful personalities, some are quiet.

We need to know various kinds of personalities so that we can understand what people do for us so that we don't easily misunderstand, especially in our relationships.

According to the theory of Hiporcrates, a father of medicine,  which suggests that there are four fundamental personality types: sanguine, choleric, melancholic, and phlegmatic. This theory is based on the Empedocles' cosmological theory, which assumes that the universe and its contents are composed of four elements; earth, water, air, and fire. They all form body fluids that affect a person's personality. 

1. Sanguin

    This type is identified  with a cheerful, talkative, upbeat and optimistic character. They are a very pleasant talker, therefore they are very sociable and friendly person. They are a very pleasant talker, therefore they are a sociable and friendly person, could be a warm chat partner because they will always be looking for new topics to discuss. This type is better known as an extrovert. They also like adventure and are not afraid to take risks.

They are easily trust people. Not infrequently, often used by other people. Apart from believing in people, they also have high self-confidence.

The weakness of this type is that they are very easily bored. If they are bored they will look for new things because they don't like boredom. Because of their fun-seeking nature, they like challenges besides that they are also creative people.

2. Melancholy

This type is identical to the introvert, this is the opposite of the Sanguine type. They are good at making plans because they are very detailed people and perfectionists. They tend to love their family and friends. They also dislike challenges and new things. Therefore they like tradition.

If sanguine types are very easy to trust people, melancholy types are not very easy to trust people. They also prefer to be alone rather than hanging out and meeting people. Even so, they are a very social person and like to contribute to their community.

Melancholy weakness is that they are sensitive and angry people. If you don't mind your words, they will be easily offended. Besides, they also easily worry about many things including about themselves.

3. Choleric

This type is perfect for the soul of a leader. Because they have a firm nature and have a purpose. They are also able to make correct decisions and to think logically. They are known to be intelligent, conscientious, analytical, and logical.

In friendship, they are not always friendly friends. They dislike to befriend people with weak personalities and much enjoy deep conversations. They enjoy spending time with people who share and have similar interests in work.   

As well as the Sanguine type, this type is not afraid to take risks and able to complete its tasks without the help of others. They are also people who focus on their work.

The disadvantage of this type is that they get easily bored and are stubborn. 

4. Phlegmatic       

This type is identified as the type of love peace and calm. This type prioritizes harmonious interpersonal relationships. Therefore, this type is a loyal and affectionate partner. If they are parents, they will give much more affection and compassion. They like maintaining family relationships, extended family, old friends, and neighbors. They are also patient and gentle people.

Caused by they love peace, they tend to avoid conflict and always try to be the mediator to reconcile conflicts. Besides that, they also like to do good deeds and help others.

The weakness of this type it is easy to harbor feelings about what happened and when problems occur in their life. Their decision making is very slow because, for them, everything must be thought out carefully and in detail.
